   긴 영어 문장 앞에서 몽이는 책상에 엎드렸다. 서아는 수첩을 펴 한 줄로 적었다. 주어(subject)는 '누가?', 동사(verb)는 '뭘 해?'에 답하는 말이다.

   Find the subject and verb, then chunk the sentence. I'll write it down.

   Subject? Verb? Chunk? Is that a snack?

   Rule one: find the comma. The main subject and verb come right after it.

   After the comma, 'Tom jumped'... smells like a snack!

   몽이는 새 문장 'Keeping quiet, you can hear the sounds of nature.'의 맨 앞 말에 동그라미를 쳤다. 그런데 'Keeping quiet'은 '조용히 있으면'이라는 앞 덩어리일 뿐이다.
